"I am a terraformer," said the boy. He sat in the sand building new worlds.

"Look at how pretty the sky is," said the girl. She let the waves crash at her feet.

"Look at my castle. I built it for you."

"Look at the blue, look at the pink."

The boy was little and scared. The girl was little and scared. The both liked to escape, in their own ways.

"I don't need the sky. I could make a better one."

"I don't need you to make me a sky when there is a perfectly beautiful one right there."

"I'll show you."

"Just let me show you. Look up."

The boy pouted and rested his elbows on his knees. The girl sighed and walked over.

"It's a very nice castle. I feel safe in it."

The boy remained silent before looking up at her.

"Do you really?"

"Yes, I do."

"I even made a little balcony for the cat."

"She'll like it very much."

"I made the floor checkered, like you like."

"I noticed, I love it. Only you could build this castle."

The girl added a shell she had in her pocket to the entryway of the castle.

"Okay now let's go look at that sky. Together."

The boy and the girl held hands as they walked along the beach. The boy followed the girl's finger to the sky. He wanted to make something bigger than the sky, something she would notice without him asking. Just for her.

What did the girl want?
